Frequently Asked Questions

What is Coaching?

The process which takes place between a Coach and his/her client, entails establishment of trust, open communication, insightful discussions, goal setting, action planning and creating sustainable growth and transformation is defined as ‘Coaching’.

Do I need a Coach? How do I know?

When you feel the need to de-clutter your thoughts, feel disempowered, demotivated, lost, often misunderstood, standing in the eye of a storm, at crossroads or at the helm of a major transformation – you need a coach. Believe it or not, every coach needs a coach as well !

What to look for in a Coach?

Your coach should be your transformation partner. It is absolutely that you feel comfort and be able to trust your Coach. A Coach is a positive influence and effective catalyst from your ‘here and now’ to ‘where you want to be’. A good coach would be an active listener and be able to observe (verbal and non-verbal cues, body language) and read between the lines. You know you have a good coach when you feel supported and a strong anchor to keep you on your track of transformative growth.

How is certification important for being a Coach?

It is extremely important. I do believe that every coach brings their style and flavor to their coaching practice. Innate skill and personal experience hold their own unique value. But, undeniably, knowledge and adherence to a Code of Ethics and a standardized Coaching Competency model provides structure. This structure often helps the coach and coachee (client) to set clear and reasonable expectations.

How is Coaching different from Mentoring?

Mentoring is more like offering advice and guidance in an informal setting. Coaching is based on a contract and is goal driven.

Would you consider being my Mentor?

Since I am certified by the International Coach Federation (ICF), I have mentored ICF applicants in the past. These sessions are centred around sharing tips and tricks to facilitate the absolute best adherence to the ICF code of Ethics and Coaching competencies protocol. These protocols and standards add a certain quality to coaching which is expected from those who aspire to be certified coaches.

What is a Flourish-Mindset?

A flourish-mindset is one which enables you to function at your very best, leveraging your skills and attitude, despite hardships and challenges. Nothing we do can take out the challenges from our lives. But, the way we respond to these, in the most hard times is what makes us ‘flourish’. This mindset is key driver to effective, positive leadership and fulfilling relationships (personal/professional).

Can I do a one-off session or I need to purchase a package of sessions?

I usually offer a complimentary 20-min chemistry session to give the coachee and myself a chance to feel how our partnership will move along. This is to provide a comfort level and set the stage for trsut and intimacy to facilitate open communication in the possible future. A one-off session may not be extremely helpful, as the goal of coaching is to establish a new pattern in the mind and life of the coachee in order to reach the desired outcome. A series of sessions best serve this purpose.

How will the ‘Flourish- Mindset benefit my Organization?

The ‘Flourish -mindset’ for Organizations is more to do with embedding a success system into the culture, which spans weeks and even months. This promotes employee engagement, reduce employee turnover, performance maximization, manage conflict and create high-performing teams within the organization. These are purely customized based on my findings post investigative research into the Organization’s current culture and where it wants to be.

I would like to have my team trained, how do we go about it?

Team/Group training sessions are customized, using the ‘Flourish-Mindset’ system with an array of components as stated in the ‘Services’ segment.
